I see you cannot use live bait, does that include maggots?

Stupid question i know, bit of a novice what does no ground bait mean, you not allowed to throw stuff in? And live bait means other fish etc?

Looking for some knowledge on how to attack the lakes. Thinking about coming to ur ponds with my girl, who’s never fished before so any advice on baits, rigs and tackle. I want to put Yvonne on to some fish while I can concentrate on the bigger fish. Which lake would u suggest

Sorry for late reply my mum had accident so haven’t been on website
You have probably already fished now but if not sweet corn, luncheon meat etc do well for smaller fish in the corner margins with float rod also floating bread works quite well. Open water for bigger carp have been producing but probably ledgering, the cell and halibut pellets are popular also bigger chunks of lucheon meat.

    ISLAND LAKE;
Hi, I’m just reading your rules and need a few things clarified please..!
•Groundbait in Small feeders, then further down the list…NO Feeders..?
    • There is no mention of Test curve or Breaking strain of line…?
•Braid mainline, Leader or Hook lengths…?

Myself and friend would like to fish on this coming Saturday 23rd, we would like to fish for Carp and maybe one Rod for Perch… can you advise if it’s ok fishing with lighter rods for the Perch please as it’s not clear in your list of rules..!

    Kind regards
    Keith

You .are allowed a small amount of natural ground bait in a feeder as long as you show us what you are using on the day, test curve & breaking strains are rarely mentioned , the carp go to 40lb in the Island lake, test curve is up to the individual on preferences, as far as breaking strain no braid but a sensible strenghth in 10 to 12lb is sensible as not to bully the fish, lighter rods are allowed to handle perch.

in your rules it states that you must use a cradle on the island lake yet you have published a picture of someone holding a carp and in the picture is an ordinary landing mat on the ground why were they aloud to fish ,I’ve been told no cradle no fishing not fair

Dont stress stuate hes cradle was right there so was i looking out for my fish, i cropped the picture to enhance the carp. I have sent four anglers away this week with no cradle as it is.

Hi to all the fellow anglers fished the main lake today, tried the float to start with a few good roach and Rudd to corn fished on the deck, but wasn’t easier with the wind,so therefore switched to pellet feeder tight to the island
It fished ok nine carp to 6lb a tench and a couple of clonking roach & Rudd……
Thoroughly enjoyed the day will be back soon
Won’t leave it two years again
Fishery looked in good order as always it’s a tiring job keeping the fishery in good order so praise to Pam and her daughter…
    Tight lines
    Noel

hi the 4 of us fished your wonderful corsican pond last saturday & i was wondering if this time we could fish island lake with 3 of us but only use one cradle per the 3 of us or not . if it helps we could just use 2 swims

      • ALDERWOOD PONDS DAY TICKET COARSE FISHERY October 22, 2020 at 9:48 pm #

Hi Graham, im away at present but if you tell pam when she does your ticket that (julie) said you could borrow an extra cradle she will lend you one, as three anglers with one cradle could cause a problem if you all catch at the same time, which has happened before, then the fish get stressed.
        Regards Julie
